Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Economics at Iowa State University is seeking a lecturer to teach Economics of Sports (Econ 313) during the Fall 2021 semester. The successful candidate will have college teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and expertise in the economics of sports. The successful candidate will also exhibit excellent communication skills, and share in Iowa State's commitment to achieving excellence through diversity and inclusion.  This will be a 25% FTE appointment for one-semester.


Required Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in economics, agricultural economics or related


Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in economics, agricultural economics or related field

College teaching experience relevant to the duties of the position

Demonstrated excellence in college teaching

Demonstrated expertise in the economics of sports through prior teaching or publications

Demonstrated commitment to promoting an inclusive classroom environment
 


Department/Program & College Description:

The Department of Economics, with approximately 40 faculty, has a long tradition of excellence in education, research, and engagement with the community. Our undergraduate program is the academic home to more than 500 students in three different majors. Our graduate program offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in economics and agricultural economics, and places graduates in vital positions in academia, government, and industry throughout the world. Faculty research covers a broad spectrum ranging from theoretical analyses to applied policy studies, and increasingly including multidisciplinary work conducted in collaboration with experts in many other fields.
