Department Summary
The Department of Media Arts prepares students with a wide range of knowledge and skills for careers in traditional media (broadcasting, film production, editing, on-air talent, audience research, media management) and emerging media (writing and producing for social media and digital media platforms including gaming). Media Arts students are provided a liberal arts education combined with hands-on experience utilizing similar tools used by industry professionals. Our department prepares students with the foundational principles, critical thinking, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed in today’s ever-changing media world. Courses are designed to provide students with ample and unique opportunities to learn from and work with expert faculty members committed to preparing students for future careers in the media industry or academia.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Summary
The Department of Media Arts at the University of North Texas is seeking a full-time continuing lecturer to teach creative television/multimedia video content production. 
 
In addition to initially teaching content development lab sessions and classes, (4/4), the successful applicant will be expected to serve on departmental committees, mentor students and be engaged in the life of the school.  The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to creative and innovative projects and additional courses as the department participates in the evolving media environment.
 
Qualified applicants will be distinguished practitioners with a significant body of professional work and an enthusiasm for teaching. Areas of expertise could include scripted and non-scripted productions including, but not limited to TV News, TV Sports (in-studio and field production), documentaries or studio-based entertainment productions 
Minimum Qualifications
  • By the time of appointment, candidates must have a Master’s Degree in a related field or at least five years of professional content production experience.
  • At least three years teaching or training in creating multi-media content with an emphasis on video production.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with News Production systems such as Ross Inception, ENPS or Avid INews.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Adobe Suite or comparable video editing software.
  • Experience developing forward-thinking innovative approaches to content creations.
  • Experience in Creative Services roles including marketing, promotion or advertising,
