Job Description Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track teaching faculty Lecturer position to begin Fall 2024 semester. This position is on an annual contract that is renewable based on need, funding, and performance with the possibility of a future multi-year contract.
Responsibilities include teaching large lecture enrollment (>150 students) courses in undergraduate general and/or organic chemistry. The job duties are approx. 95% teaching and 5% service. We desire candidates that can teach the sophomore-level organic chemistry sequence.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field at the time appointment begins. The successful candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates that can teach the sophomore-level organic chemistry sequence are desired. Candidates with evidence/research-based learning pedagogies, proficiency with online assessment and instruction, and creating an inclusive teaching environment are desired. In addition, instructional experience and a record of high-quality teaching at the university level is required.
