Position Summary
The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) School of Business invites applications for a Lecturer of Business Analytics position starting in Fall 2024. Teaching interests in business analytics are encouraged to apply.  Individuals with specific interests and experience in decision science, data science, and information systems are strongly encouraged to apply. This position will teach a range of topics and levels of undergraduate courses related to business analytics and information systems. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • An earned master’s degree in a business field with at least 18 graduate hours in analytics, decision sciences, data science, information systems, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in analytics, decision science, data science, business information systems, or a related discipline. A particular ability in decision science and data science is preferred.
  • Demonstrated effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of ability to contribute to the positive culture of our school, university, and community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A doctoral degree in business specializing in analytics, decision science, data science, information systems, or related discipline from an AACSB-accredited school.
  • Experience teaching introductory undergraduate business statistics and upper-level courses in decision sciences, data sciences, and business analytics.
  • Experience using technology in teaching and experiences teaching in multiple modalities (i.e., hybrid, online, and on—ground courses).
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools, databases SQL (with experience in databases like Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.). NoSQL (JASON, XML, YAML, ETC.), and programming languages for analytics including not limited to R, Python (with a focus on libraries such as NumPy and Pandas), and visualization software Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Academic experience working on a campus with culturally diverse students, staff and faculty.
  • Experience in working with industry-standard tools and programming languages for analytics.
