The Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for three non-tenure-track teaching-focused faculty positions beginning Fall, 2024. We seek candidates who have the expertise to teach in our Introductory Biology courses, or sophomore-level Genetics, or sophomore-level Human Anatomy and Physiology courses, or a combination of these courses.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a doctorate in a related discipline at the time the appointment begins and demonstrable teaching experience. Desired qualifications include a strong record of exemplary teaching at the undergraduate level as well as experience using evidence-based teaching practices. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are required. The candidates selected for the positions must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of appointment. The positions are minimum nine-month appointments with options available for summer teaching. These non-tenure track positions are renewable one-year contracts with renewal pending successful evaluations. Opportunities for promotion to senior lecturer will be available after five years.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a cover letter detailing teaching experience, a statement of teaching philosophy, a representative sample of recent teaching evaluations, and the names and contact information of at least three professional references.
