JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Lehigh Valley invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Information Sciences and Technology (IST). Assistant teaching professor title designates completion of terminal degree. (This is a multi-year appointment, 2 years with an option for renewal, 36 weeks, to begin August 5, 2024, or as negotiated.) 
 
Responsibilities: Teach each semester using traditional, hybrid, and online delivery methods. Successful candidates will be able to teach courses within the Information Technology baccalaureate program. Courses range from introductory subjects such as Information, People, and Technology, Programming (Java, Python, C++), to upper-level courses in Human Centered Design and Development. Systems Integration and potentially courses in Cybersecurity-related topics. Teaching assignments may require teaching day and/or evenings as needed. 
 
Faculty are expected to engage in activities to stay current in their discipline, advise students and provide career guidance, participate in campus, university, and community service activities, and actively participate in course, curriculum, and program development.

Qualifications: Minimum of Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Sciences, or related discipline from an accredited institution.  
 
Campus Information: Penn State Lehigh Valley is one of more than 20 Penn State campuses state-wide. It is a student-centered, campus of approximately 950 students. The coursework for the first two years of more than 275 Penn State baccalaureate majors is offered, as well as 10 baccalaureate degrees, including a B.S. in Information Technology, B.S.in Cyber Analytics and Operations.  
 
Students and faculty at Penn State Lehigh Valley have all the resources of a major research university at their disposal, but in a small college atmosphere. Class sizes are small, and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive individual attention.
