Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics in the College of Science at the University of Texas Arlington (UTA) invites applications for non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty positions beginning the Fall 2024 Semester. The NTT faculty position is a full-time position at the rank of Lecturer for MS or MA candidates and Assistant Professor of Instruction rank for Ph.D. or Ed.D. candidates. Teaching excellence is expected for the position. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the full-time NTT faculty will include teaching undergraduate mathematics service courses and working closely with the Learning Resource Center in the Department of Mathematics. The minimum qualifications for NTT faculty are an earned MS or MA in mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics. While outstanding applicants from all mathematical areas will be considered, preference for the position will be given to those with significant experience in or a strong commitment to undergraduate mathematics teaching, student engagement, and mentoring.
Required Qualifications
M.S. or M.A. in mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics, with at least 18 credit hours of mathematics graduate coursework
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in mathematics, mathematical education, or statistics. Experience teaching entry-level mathematics courses.

The Department of Mathematics has been named the recipient of the 2023 American Mathematical Society Award for Math Programs That Make a Difference, for the NSF-supported program for Math Bridge to Doctorate and is the winner of the 2013 American Mathematical Society Award for Exemplary Program or Achievement in a Mathematics Department. The Department of Mathematics is a major center for mathematics research and education in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and North Texas. It serves more than 10,000 students annually and features nationally recognized faculty with outstanding accomplishments in teaching, research, and service. The department offers a variety of degree programs, including BA, BS, MA, MS, and Ph.D. in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education.
