ATTENTION:

The Department of Accounting in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a Lecturer (Lecturer, TL020).

JOB DETAILS:

The Department of Accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is seeking a highly motivated professional in the field of Accounting for an academic staff position. This is a full-time renewable nine-month appointment commencing in August 2024. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Areas of teaching may include any area of accounting, depending on the needs of the department. Courses will only be taught in the undergraduate program. We offer courses in financial, managerial and tax accounting, accounting systems, auditing, nonprofit accounting, and accounting technology. Teaching load is 4 classes per semester. Office hours and service commitments are also required. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have a Master's Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Professional experience in accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional licensure (CPA)
  • Prior teaching experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Willingness and Ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include teaching four courses per semester in our undergraduate program and providing service to the department and the college. On campus and online teaching are both possible.
