Job Description:

The Department of Chemistry at the University at Albany, SUNY, seeks a Full-Time non-tenure-track 10-month Lecturer in Chemistry starting September 1, 2024.

The duties of this position include teaching three undergraduate courses per semester and may include giving lectures and recitation sessions in organic and general chemistry. The chosen candidate will hold regular office hours for students and participate in student advisement/mentoring.

The initial appointment is a one-year appointment with the possibility of annual renewals based on performance.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • A PhD in Chemistry from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization by May 31, 2024. Candidates who will not hold the degree by this date will not be considered. 
  • 1-2 years of experience teaching college-level Chemistry courses. 
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role.
