The Alliance for Child Welfare Excellence (the Alliance) is a partnership between the University of Washington – School of Social Work, Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), Eastern Washington University – School of Social Work, University of Washington in Tacoma – School of Social Work and Criminal Justice, and the University of Washington – School of Social Work – Partners for Our Children (P4C).  The vision of the Partnership is to join as one entity to support the readiness and continued learning of foster and relative caregivers and the child welfare workforce with the intention of achieving the best possible outcomes for Washington’s children and families.

The Alliance and the School of Social Work have an outstanding opportunity for a Learner Experience Supervisor.

The Learner Experience Supervisor supervises the Learner Experience team and will provide support and supervision to designers developing synchronous and asynchronous learning activities, both for web-based and in-person delivery. This will involve substantial work in project planning, coaching team members on best and emerging practices in instructional design, and quality assurance of training materials developed by their team members prior to launch.

This position is supervised by the Learner Experience, Quality and Information Administrator and works with greater Alliance team to support relevant, quality, and innovative training and service to Alliance learners. The Learner Experience Supervisor will be instrumental in the support and supervision of our creatives in the development of innovative learnings for varied audiences, and will embrace and distill a magnitude of content to create engaging and interactive learning programs online.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

(50%) Supervision and support of instructional designers engaged in multi-modal offerings for adult learners.
• Manage a team of instructional designers who create web-based learning experiences for classroom and self-paced learning, including providing expert guidance, leadership, instructional design, and project management for curriculum projects
• Coordinate review, approval, and completion of curriculum products to ensure curriculum guidelines and best practices are best.
• Oversee incorporation of evaluation feedback for all innovative training activities, including e-learning courses.

(35%) Train and mentor colleagues to develop online courses
• Provide technical assistance and mentoring to Alliance facilitators who wish to develop new or convert existing courses of interest to an online or e-learning format.
• Develop resource materials, templates, online modules, online courses, and in-person training curricula for training and mentoring colleagues in the development of online learning solutions.
• Work with faculty partners, staff, and field experts to develop clear and appropriate guidelines for online learning products and projects, including instructional design best practices, workflow, roles, and budgeting guidelines.

(10%) Instructional Design
• Take course content provided by facilitators and other experts and shape it into online offerings.

(5%) Other Duties as Assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technology, , Curriculum Development, or a related field or concentration. Equivalent number of years in experience can substitute for the degree requirement.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with designing and producing courses for professional development using multi-modality and online platforms.
• Advanced skills and experience planning, designing, producing and delivering education and training in a wide variety of online formats
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and facilitation communication skills and patience
• Critical thinker with demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
• Can work independently and as a team member
• Ability to track tasks to completion and ensure that they are carried out properly
• Ability to work well among diverse population
• Experience initiating and managing projects, as well as coordinating and managing project teams
• Experience with developing online eLearning courses and utilizing a variety of software, video, and/or media tools.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technology, , Curriculum Development, or a related field or concentration.
• Experience with the Articulate suite of projects is strongly preferred.
• Exposure in working with incorporating SCORM modules into multiple learning management systems is preferred.
