Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) is seeking a multi-faceted Audio-Visual Engineer to join our vibrant and growing team. The Learning Environments Design Engineer, Intermediate assists in the design and integration of learning and other spaces for Georgia State University and IIT.

This position requires a solid understanding of complex issues that surround the design, integration, and support of network-connected AV systems in learning, production, and conference environments. A solid understanding of IP network concepts and Crestron AV systems is critical to the success of this position. Knowledge within this position includes both the technologies associated as well as modern pedagogical practices within learning environments. The Learning Environments Engineer, Intermediate supports the interactions between technical support issues, design best practices, and customer requirements. This position is responsible for staying abreast of emerging technologies and how those technologies can be applied into new instructional scenarios within learning and conference spaces.

The scope responsibility will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following,

  • Command intermediate-level audio/visual technologies including Crestron system design and configuration and video teleconference systems.
  • Assist in the discussion of holistic design principles within learning and other AV environments including the convergence of technology and environmental solutions for pedagogical best practices.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of learning and other AV environments.
  • Research and develop new interactions between emerging technologies to create learning solutions for instructors and researchers.
  • Assist with populating and maintaining the campus-wide learning space management tools such as the Vaddio Deployment Tool and Crestron Roomview Fusion software.
  • Command a solid understanding of IP networking concepts and Crestron AV systems to facilitate integration, support, and management of network-connected AV devices.
  • Assist in the development of project schedule elements in coordination with campus partners.

: Bachelor's degree and three years related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications: 

The preferred candidate should possess the following attributes, 

  • Bachelor and three years or a combination of experience
  • Three or more years supporting educational technology environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Crestron AV system programming – Crestron Toolbox
  • Solid TCP/IP network experience.
