The Learning Support Specialist I, under general supervision, provides assistance to all areas of the Statistics Online Programs including course and exam support.  Creates and maintains informational and marketing materials for Online Programs. Creates graphics for and maintains the Online Program’s web and social media presence.  The selected candidate will subscribe to and support our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accountability as stated above. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One year of experience with online learning and online learning technology.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Planning and organization skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Five or more years’ experience with online learning and online learning technology.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Wordpress, html code, Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities:

  • ONLINE LEARNING SUPPORT - Assists and supports faculty in learning management system related items including course layout, course content, exam setup, and homework submission areas.  Assists with the creation and maintenance of course documents for the current LMS (Canvas), Zoom, and other course related packages. Manages all aspects of Zoom proctoring including the creation and maintenance of procedures, creation of exam sessions, student and faculty communication and general support for exams. 

  • WEB AND GRAPHIC DESIGNER - Assists with the creation and maintenance of online content posted by the online program website. Creates and maintains promotional and informational flyers, including graphics.

  • SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS - Creates content and distribution of promoted materials to raise the visibility of the department.  Assists with social media communications for the program including Twitter and Facebook accounts.

  • A/V SUPPORT - Assists professors, students and administrative staff with hardware and software questions and issues, including departmental computers and computer peripherals such as projectors, printers, and scanners. Performs other duties as assigned.
