Organizational Overview
The Human Resources (HR) Directorate, led by the Associate Lab Director for Human Resources (ALD HR)/Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), manages all Human Capital Management functions initiatives including, but not limited to, scientific and non-scientific employment, compensation, benefits, employee and labor relations, training and development, occupational medicine, and guest/user/visitor center.  The HR Directorate supports a highly diverse, multicultural and international population of employees, guests and users.


Position Description

The Talent Management Group within the Human Resources Directorate has an opening for a Leadership Training Specialist.  In this role, you will support the design and delivery of programs that support the talent management function.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the annual performance appraisal process, such as trainings, e-learning, communications, and serve as a primary point of contact for system questions during the annual review process
  • Design and deliver e-learning courses, as well as manage the online library of training materials and training catalogue
  • Facilitate classroom training related to diversity, general employee, and supervisory development
  • Provide administrative support for our flagship programs (e.g., Institutional Mentorship Program, Science and Engineering Development Program, Laboratory Operations Supervisor Academy, Onboarding), to include assisting with communications, scheduling, and participant tracking 
  • Evaluate and use assessment tools for employee development (e.g., 360 assessments)
  • Support the Manager, Talent Management with special programs and administrative support as needed

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Business or related field, generally on the basis of 2:1 (experience:college) years
  • Minimum of four years of experience designing and delivering training and development programs such as; leadership and supervisory training, diversity equity & inclusion training, team building and soft skills training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong platform, facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use independent judgement and discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interact and work with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to be flexible and work independently on all required project tasks.

Preferred

  • Experience with E-learning creation software (e.g., Articulate Storyline)
  • Certifications in assessment tools or vendor delivered training programs
  • Strong understanding of common Learning Management Systems.
