Definition of Class

This position provides daily operational support as a key member of the Luckyday Scholars Program. The incumbent assists the Director and Assistant Director with program development, manages the daily operations of the Luckyday Scholars Program, develops and manages communication strategies, teaches development courses, and provides guidance and direction for students, staff, and faculty.


Examples of Work Performed
  • Develops student cohort programming to foster community within the Luckyday Scholars Program.
  • Coordinates Peer Mentor Team, including selection, training, and advising mentors as they build community with first year students.
  • Teaches and develops first year seminar courses.
  • Assists Director and Assistant Director and serves as a vital member of the Luckyday Program team assisting with the design and implementation of a comprehensive Scholarship Program focusing on the Luckyday values of scholarship, community, leadership, and service.
  • Participates in the development and assessment of program activities.
  • Establishes communication plan for events and programs including creating content for web platforms, developing student e-newsletter, and coordinating social media content and other communication pieces as needed.
  • Supervises Peer Mentor communication with incoming students through the spring and summer.
  • Assists with the development of alumni communication strategy.
  • Develops and oversees communication strategy for current and prospective students, campus partners, alumni, and other constituents.
  • Assists with creating, developing, and producing promotional program materials.
  • Facilitates mentoring sessions with students to enhance their educational development.
  • Manages social media presence and oversees social media strategies.
  • Develops leadership and communication plan for residential mentor team.
  • Coordinates with student leaders to plan and implement campus, community, and departmental activities such as speakers, holiday events, trips, and other social opportunities.
  • Advises student committees and collaborates with them to create and implement programming for Luckyday Scholars.
  • Supports students as they transition from high school into college, through graduation and connecting as alumni.
  • Performs administrative duties such as maintaining student files, creating reports, and supporting senior staff as needed.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with planning, development, and implementation of leadership and communication programs.
  • Manages communication strategies including social media marketing campaign and strategies.
  • Serves as a liaison to student leaders, community partners, and staff.
  • Teaches courses related to student educational development.

  • Minimum Education/Experience

    Education:
    Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

    AND

    Experience:
    Two (2) years of experience related to the above described duties.
