Job Summary

This position will lead, manage, participate, and coordinate the activities of the support services team for UT Tyler. Support services include mail, warehousing, move, and event support services. The position engages in active communication with faculty, staff, and the campus community. This position also serves as the Facilities representative for all event planning meetings coordinating division wide support as necessary.

 

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

  • Oversees support services staff and daily operations of support service activities.
  • Complete set-ups/teardowns and support internal/external campus events.
  • Responsible for procurement and human resource activities for Support Services.
  • Oversee mail operations for the university.
  • Constant communication with campus customers to establish goals for each campus event.
  • Represents Facilities in all event planning meetings and coordinates facilities event support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of experience in moving, mail services, or events support.
  • Combination of education and experience considered.

 

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience in an educational setting.
  • One (1) year experience in moving, mail services, or events support.

 

Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in written form.
  • Proficiency using computers and software packages.
  • Competency with electronic databases.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions related to moving heavy items.
  • Ability to use moving equipment of all types.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
