The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Data Science at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks an experienced and highly motivated PhD biostatistician to engage collaboratively with investigators on clinical and translational oncology research, including national cancer clinical trials, and in research projects related to virology and HIV/AIDS.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Works on significant and unique issues that may impact future concepts, products or technologies on a broader scope than just one unit.
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Manages the work efforts of more than one individual and mentors staff. Completes performance appraisals.
  • Works closely with directors on unit/lab issues. Very wide latitude for decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in a scientific discipline or MD preferred and a minimum of 12+ years related experience.
  • Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.
  • 5+ years management responsibility preferred
  • Additional skills:
  • Exercises latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
  • Excellent knowledge of the field with strong leadership skills.
  • Resolves critical issues and contributes to unit/lab development.
