University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake – Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a LEAD RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST - CT.

WORK SCHEDULE
- FULL-TIME, 40 HOURS/WEEK
- EVENING SHIFT

- Performs, at a professional level, highly complex Computed Tomographic examinations, monitor patient vital signs and condition during examinations, and provide leadership to technologists.

All of UW Medicine’s radiologists are board-certified and specialize in a variety of areas such as neuroradiology, body radiology, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography and chest radiology. Imaging findings are integrated with all clinical data to generate comprehensive and actionable patient assessments.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists with solving daily issues such as equipment problems, staff assignments, and  physician questions
• Regularly assigns, instructs and checks the work of fellow technologists, students, and staff
• Is proactive with staff, looks for issues and potential problems.
• Demonstrates good communication skills between staff and faculty.
• Creates supportive working and learning environment
• Provides leadership in the absence of the Imaging Supervisor
• Assigns and monitors daily tech duties
• Delegates duties to cover sick leave, vacations
• Demonstrates competency in evaluation of technologist’s work
• Able to perform quality control tests
• Able to initiate service call and trouble shoot minor problems
• Ensure coverage for lunches
• Lead up to 5 Imaging Techs at any given time
• Ability to use Kronos,  monitor time cards and make corrections if needed
• Perform all duties of Imaging Technologist - CT.

Additional General CT Tec Responsibilities:
• Review patient medical history present on exam requests and consult with physician as necessary.
• Prepare patient for examination; counsel patient regarding safety factors and risks of examination.
• Provide localization parameters for highly complex Neurosurgical procedures.
• Coordinate the administration of sedation to patients when necessary; under the direction of a
physician, administers contrast media.

• Participate in formal training programs for residents, fellows and student Computed Imaging
Technologists.
• Perform calibration tests, adjust and maintain all equipment.
• Maintain inventory of supplies to be ordered and submit order requests to Supervisor.
- Competitive candidates will be able to operate the following equipment/systems:  Computed Radiography equipment, CT workstations, PACS, the hospital information system, and the Radiology Information System; able to print and retrieve images; can implement downtime procedures as needed.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training program in an AMA approved school; registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) And one year of experience in applicable modality OR A minimum of 6 months of technical experience in the applicable modality AND previous leadership experience
OR equivalent education/experience.
- Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.
