Job Description:

The State University of New York (SUNY) System Administration, located in Albany, New York, is searching for multiple positions of Lead Programmer-Analyst and Senior Programmer-Analyst.  These positions will support multiple campuses and departments within the Office of Information and Technology at SUNY System's headquarters.  Join us in developing the next generation of SUNY's administrative systems. We offer a technically rewarding environment with a good work/life balance.  We are looking for bright, ambitious Developers who will be responsible for enhancing, developing and maintaining our SUNY Student and Business systems with an immediate focus on human resources and finance. 


Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited higher education institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Knowledge in some or all of the following technologies:
    • Java and Java Frameworks
    • HTML, especially HTML5
    • JavaScript
    • SQLPL/SQL
    • XML and XSLT
    • Groovy
    • PHP
    • JQuery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education or proven experience developing web applications using these technologies:
    • AJAX
    • Web Services (SOAP, WSDL), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • 2 or more years of Relational Database design principles (Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
  • Ability to automate processes, create third party system integrations and the utilization of web services and API's
  • Experience with the Ellucian Banner implementation, integration, application development, enhance functionalities, quality assurance, testing, coordination of upgrades to software both on premise and cloud-based solutions
  • Oracle application server and development tools
  • Object oriented analysis and design
  • Experience utilizing Tortoise SVN, GitHub or similar source control repositories
  • Experience in Business Intelligence or similar solution
  • Experience in timeline and project management and/or implementation of business and functional requirements
  • Professional or internship experiences a plus
