Job Description
The Physician Extender works under the general supervision of the Physicians and Physician Assistants and directly reports to the clinic management (Associate Director, Practice Manager, Clinic Nurse Manager). The Physician Extender will act as a member of the patient care team in the outpatient clinic. The Physician Extender will manage the daily clinic flow, triage patients, assist during in office procedures, obtain and process laboratory samples and specimens, and perform phlebotomy. Physician extenders provide bracing and casting in the outpatient clinic environment as well as instruction on rehabilitation programs.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree
Required Qualifications
The Licensed Practical Nurse - Pharmacology (LPN-P) with certification in medication administration by the State of Ohio Board of Nursing. Current BLS-HCW certification. Previous experience working with athletic populations required. CPR Certification. Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Two years directly relevant experience in an outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine facility required. OR Athletic Training Certification (A.T.C.) and Licensure by the State of Ohio Occupational, Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Board. Previous experience working with athletic populations required. CPR Certification. Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
