What You'll Be Doing:
As the Lead IT Security Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals through security engineering projects; the detection, investigation, and remediation of information security incidents; and collaboration efforts with university customers and external entities. This position will be responsible for leading the design of computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs. You will provide strategic metrics and reporting on security services. Will provide technical guidance in security planning, engineering, architecture, and development of standards and interface applications. You will coordinate and monitor all incident response processes, and be responsible for recommending and implementation of resources required to maintain or expand service levels.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience
Must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in information security, computer science, computer technology, engineering, or related fields preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted
A minimum of Six (6) years of progressive technical experience in at least two of the following areas:
- IT Security infrastructure, design, implementation, or integration of security technologies
- IT Security operations (e.g. Incident Response, forensics, vulnerability management, etc.) or
- IT Security consulting
Preferred:
- IT security-related certifications (e.g. CISSP, SANS/GIAC)
- Experience in a complex and diverse enterprise technology environment, with application/network/systems administration, IT Security risk assessment
- Experience leading IT Security projects, including functional supervision of IT professionals
Skills that look good:
- Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and customer service skills
- Working knowledge of computer networking configurations and protocols
- Demonstrated ability to:
- integrate and support information and cyber security processes, tools, and applications
- identify operational improvements and process automation
- work independently as well as in a collaborate team environment with internal and external parties
- solve problems, prioritize personal works tasks, and collaborate with others, and manage project priorities
- Ability to originate change, achieve results and foster continuous quality improvement
- Demonstrated proficiency with security tools, monitoring, and the creation of solutions to support security operations
- Operational understanding of one or more security frameworks (e.g. Intelligence Driven Defense, Cyber Kill Chain, Diamond Model, and/or MITRE ATT&CK)
- Strong presentation, written and oral communication skills
