Summary: 
Responsible for the control and accounting for University’s operating and capital leases. This includes close collaboration with Real Estate Administration and other major contributors across the universityUnderstanding and maintaining all software and applications used by the departmentResponsible for accounting, analysis, and capitalization of all capital projects for the University. The Staff Accountant must be the subject matter expert in their areas of responsibilityResponsible for compliance with IRS, FASB and SEC rules and regulations.  
 
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience: 
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and at least three (3) years of related accounting experience. Demonstrated general ledger analysis experience. Experience performing account reconciliations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 


Required Skills & Abilities: 
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of Excel.  
Ability to perform mid-level accounting reconciliations.  
Strong organization and time management skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks.  
Demonstrated ability to prepare Excel worksheets, analysis, and general ledger account reconciliations.  
Capacity to develop excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data.  
Ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences to include both functional and technical peers as well as the University community.  
Aptitude to learn and utilize automated accounting and reporting systems. 
 
Preferred:  


Microsoft Teams experience.  
Lease accounting experience. 
Banner experience.  
MBA.
This position requires a background check.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
