- Description
- The Lake Michigan fisheries naturalist aide assists with the public access maintenance for fishing sites, repairing and maintaining sampling equipment, with fieldwork on the Lake Michigan research vessel such as netting lake trout and yellow perch, and electrofishing. They also perform lab work to section and age fish spines, extract and read coded wire tags from trout and salmon snouts, and also may assist with collecting steelhead broodstock and other duties as assigned Free on-site housing is available
- Qualifications
- Ideal candidate has education and/or experience with fisheries or similar field, and ability and desire to work in the field
