UC San Diego is hiring a temporary Laborer to support the campus operations for the 2023 - 2024 School Year.

Duration: Anticipated end date: 5/26/2024

Compensation: $19.47 / hour - Eligible for paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.

Work Schedule: 8am - 4:30pm; Saturday - Wednesday

Location: 100% on-site on campus in La Jolla.

• Under supervision, performs semi-skilled and skilled manual tasks and cleaning of College Residences /Dining Halls facilities, meeting rooms, study rooms, laundry facilities, offices, lounge areas, hallways, stairs, property signage, trash/recycle chutes and rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, suites, and landings, interior/exterior common areas, and HDH grounds and walkways.
• Will assist Building Maintenance Workers as needed. Operates vacuum cleaners, floor machines, power washer.
• Other duties include damp/dust mop, sweep, vacuum, shampoo carpet, wax and buff floors, empty trash, move and arrange furniture, wash windows, clean rooms, furniture, bathrooms, and appliances.
• Safely operates and drives trucks with lifts, box trucks, and various other university vehicles. Responsible for safeguarding assigned area’s keys and care/operation of custodial supplies and equipment.
• Will respond to routine and emergency work requests from supervisor, staff, maintenance, Customer Service Center, and police department as needed.
• Will provide customer service to student residents and guests as needed. Work location is Dining Halls/student residence.
• Positive interaction with staff, residents, and guests is required

• Able to operate smartphone, basic computer skills.

• Must have valid CA driver license

This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) and requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $40,653 - $52,555 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $19.47 - $25.17
