Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Trainee for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. This is an entry-level short-term position. This will be a learning experience to gain knowledge.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Works under constant supervision to assist lab personnel (technicians, graduate students) in basic lab duties such as setting up and cleaning of equipment for experiments, and routine maintenance of cell cultures.
  • Observes analysis of sterol accumulation in cultured cells using fluorescence microscopy, and observe lipid extractions on cell culture samples in to be for various biochemical analyses.

Hours Per Week 28-30 hr/week

This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.

Position Salary $17/hr

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Niemann-Pick C disease a plus.
  • One year of biology and one year of chemistry taken at the undergraduate level.
