A lab technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jie Zheng, within the joint Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at The University of Texas at Dallas and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Our group’s research focuses on the fundamental understanding of nano-bio interaction via nano materials on both in vivo and in vitro level. We apply these understandings to drive advancements in disease diagnosis and therapy.
Minimum Education and Experience
Associate degree with a minimum of two years hands on experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. 
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree required; higher education is a plus.
2. Experience with animals.
3. Neurology experience preferred.
4. Basic knowledge of chemistry instrumentation; background as a chemist is a plus.
5. Willingness to learn.
6. Ability to commute to the UTSW lab on some days during the week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Independently perform animal-related experiments.
2. Assist in maintaining laboratory instruments.
3. Independently conduct instrumental measurements.
