Job Summary

This is an occasional, “on-call” position for washing and sterilizing of laboratory glassware in the Division of Biology and Biological Engineering (BBE).

Essential Job Duties

  • Wash and sterilize laboratory glassware by hand and by automated washing machines.
  • Performs cleaning, rinsing, and drying of glassware for BBE laboratories. This may be done by hand or by using washing machines and autoclaves for sterilization.
  • Assist with fly food facility operation by applying plugs on vials and bottles.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have basic knowledge of glass washing.
  • Must be able to lift  up to 50 pounds and be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have good communication skills. 
  • Must be dependable and work well with others.
  • Must interact daily with functional peer group and supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
