Posting Summary | Excellent opportunity for a laboratory technician to learn exciting questions in the field of cancer biology and DNA repair. The two main duties associated with this position will be: (a) conducting laboratory experiments, and (b) providing general laboratory support. The experiments will be centered on using molecular biology techniques such as tissue culturing, gene/protein expression analysis, high throughput sequencing analysis and other related methods. While the supervisor will set the research goals, guide the research, and meet regularly with the technician to discuss data, it is expected that after a training period, the technician will plan and conduct day-to-day experiments fairly independently. General lab support will include preparation of solutions, glassware, and consumable plastics, inventory of supplies, and equipment maintenance. |
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, or related fields and one to two years of laboratory experience required. Commitment to diversity and inclusion required. |
Desirable Qualifications | Additional training in tissue culturing molecular biology techniques (either academic or industrial) is highly desirable. Experience in melanoma immunotherapy is a plus. |
