Responsibilities
The Zhao lab is looking for a Laboratory/Research Technician. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to begin a career in science and/or medicine. The laboratory/research technician is expected to perform routine laboratory procedures according to standardized protocols and report results. The individual receives detailed instructions on assignments and regular supervision.

Research projects in the Zhao lab are centered around the regulatory mechanisms for T cell development and functions important for therapeutics against autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, and cancers. The individual will receive training in state-of-the-art immunology, genetics, molecular biology and developmental biology techniques. The individual will have opportunities to work with a team on significant projects or lead independent projects.

Minimum Qualifications
Enthusiasm for Biological Sciences. Must have effective communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Must have the ability to carefully follow written and verbal instructions, be highly motivated, conscientious, and highly dependable.

Preferred Qualifications
Course work in genetics, cell and molecular biology, and/or immunology are desired. Previous laboratory experience in any of these areas is desired. The ideal candidate will have an excellent record of scholarship and communication skills.

Work Hours
Typically Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
