Job Summary:
Technician needed for a research project examining basic physiological and ecological function of marine bacteria. The project will focus on developing linkages between cultivation-independent (i.e. metagenomic) data sets and model laboratory organisms to better understand how bacterioplankton physiology and genomics influence biogeochemical cycles (particularly the carbon cycle). The research involves molecular biology, cultivation of marine organisms, development of genetic systems, and basic laboratory management.  
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience: Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate will have molecular and cultivation experience. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's in the biological sciences, strongly preferred.
