Summary

Dr. Anthony Antonellis is seeking temporary laboratory assistant to work with him over the summer assisting him with laboratory research.  

This position will report directly to Dr. Antonellis.


Who We Are

The Department of Human Genetic (DHG) is one of nine basic science departments in the Medical School with primary missions of teaching and research devoted to advancing the fields of genetics and genomics to further our understanding of biology and human disease. 


Responsibilities*
  • Perform experiments to determine the functional consequences of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase mutations on gene function. 
  • Become proficient on the biology of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases and related human diseases. 
  • Become proficient at molecular and yeast genetic experimentation. 
  • Carefully back up all generated reagents.
  • Maintain a lab notebook.

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelors of Science Degree
  • Some wet lab experience performing scientific experiments
  • Knowledge of wet lab safety protocols
  • Experience with the use of safe use of laboratory reagents
  • Knowledge of how to maintain a lab notebook appropriately
  • Highschool degree, or equivalent, supplemented by some course work in bookkeeping, accounting, business administration, or human resources.

Background Screening
