Position Summary:
 
HLA Lab, Department of Pathology


 


Under supervision, performs the full range of duties from specimen procurement through specimen and/or blood/blood component processing/handling. Performs all clerical functions including but not limited to data entry, filing results, maintaining records, contacting clients, answering phones, resolving preanalytical specimen issues and providing information. Participates in monitoring workflow and helps maintain compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. As appropriate, assists technician and CLSs.

$22.00 - $23.75 (Hourly Rate) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $22.00 - $25.88 (Hourly Rate)

Required:
 
  • One year clinical laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and two years of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and one year of laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Equivalent to the completion of two years of college, including at least twelve semester hours in college laboratory courses, such as chemistry, physics, biology, or bacteriology.
  • Good computer skills including knowledge of various software applications. 
  • Must be willing to provide weekend and holiday coverage assignment(s) as needed.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job. 
  • Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships across the Health System. 
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. 
  • Good communication skills.
     

Special Conditions Required:
  • Shiftwork: Dayshift, Monday – Friday
