Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Lab Technician for the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Works on a research project investigating the effects of exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on female uterine endometrium functions, including developing 3D endometrium organoids using human primary endometrium stromal cells.
  • Reviews NCATS dataset to identify EDCs exhibiting progesterone/estrogen receptor antagonistic effects.
  • Conducts exposure experiments and toxicity evaluation using the 3D endometrium organoid model.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school/vocational school education or equivalent with coursework completed in the relevant science area(s).
  • One year of research study experience.
  • An equivalent amount of college-level study in an appropriate science curriculum may be substituted for the experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Practical understanding and a working knowledge of basic scientific techniques.
  • The ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
