Lab Research Technician, Cell & Molecular Biology

Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Laboratory Research Technician will support researchers carrying out experimental studies examining brain development in mice.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Standard laboratory techniques and molecular cloning techniques
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and PowerPoint software
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree and one to two years of directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• College level coursework in chemistry and biology
• Experience with molecular biology, cloning, primer design, RNA-extraction, qPCR 
• Experience with mice breeding and genotyping
• Experience with immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization
• Experience with microscopy
• Experience with cell culture
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 23.
