Occ Summary

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Batich and Khasraw laboratory, including staff supervision, budgeting, inventory, equipment checks, and purchasing. They develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety of laboratory personnel and the quality of laboratory research results. The Laboratory Manager also coordinates with other departments within the hospital or clinic to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory.

Responsibilities include:

1.   To oversee and manage all aspects of the laboratory, including personnel, equipment, and operations.

2.   To develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the laboratory.

3.   To ensure that all laboratory personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform their duties.

4.   To maintain a safe and clean working environment in the laboratory.

5.   To monitor and control inventory levels of supplies and materials needed for the operation of the laboratory.

6.   To prepare reports on the activities of the laboratory as required by management or regulatory agencies.

7.   To schedule and be present for safety inspections, lab equipment certification visits

8.   To regularly order and maintain laboratory equipment gas services

Ideal candidates will have the following experience:

Tissue culture sterile technique

Ability to maintain Lab SOPs

Ability to manage Lab online ordering database and manage dual lab inventory (for all preclinical and clinical projects)

Organization and time management skills


Minimum Qualifications
Education

Work requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.


Experience

Work requires two years of research experience. A related master's OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE degree may offset required years of experience on a 1:1 basis, e.g., a two year master's degree in lieu of two years of experience.
