Position Summary:
 
Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, the research technician / lab manager will be responsible for general lab maintenance; ordering; lab safety and protocol compliance; routine experiments in cell and molecular biology; caring of animals; and other technical duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Required:
Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and two years of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and one year of laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
 
• Background in biological sciences or chemistry, equivalent to a bachelor's or master’s degree. At least 2 years experience in a laboratory environment including, but not limited to, tissue culture, sterile technique, molecular biology, buffer/reagent preparation, animal husbandry and genotyping. 
• Two-year commitment 
• Self-motivation 
• Strong organization and time management skills 
• Interpersonal communication skills to work with others including PI, lab members, administrative staffs, vendors, etc. 
• Ability to schedule experiments and maintain accurate records of all studies and tests performed. 
• Knowledge and abilities to properly coordinate the maintenance of a lab facility to include, but not limited to, preparation of tissue culture reagents, stocking of shelves, clean-up and decontamination duties, overseeing maintenance of animal colony, and compliance with safety, and record keeping requirements. 
• Willingness to work with animals and biological/chemical hazards.
