Description

The CRUMP Institute is seeking a motivated a Lab Assistant II to join our team and support our innovative cancer biology research. This position offers involvement in assisting in molecular and cell biology techniques such as cloning, PCR, DNA purification/preparation, immunoprecipitation, agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoreses, immunoblotting, mass spectrometry, and tissue culture. Assist with experiments involving mouse models of cancer Previous lab experience and knowledge of cancer biology techniques are desired to be successful in this role. Hourly range: $21.38-$25.15



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Required: * Knowledge of basic genetics, molecular biology and biochemical principles; * Ability to use basic laboratory equipment, including balance, centrifuge, pH meter, PCR machine, etc; * Knowledge of analysis programs related to large-scale biological data analysis; * Demonstrated computer skills including knowledge of Perl, Matlab, Java, Unix scripting, MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Photoshop; interest in website design/maintenance a plus; * Dependability and accuracy in tasks assigned; * Ability to communicate effectively to convey experimental results; * Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows and students.
