Description

The CRUMP Institute is seeking a motivated Lab Assistant II with expertise in computational biology. Responsibilities include applying computational algorithms to analyze gene expression and proteomics data, implementing mathematical and statistical procedures, maintaining computer systems, and supporting various research projects. The Lab Assistant will also serve as a contact person for the IT division in regards to maintaining and updating computer system and program libraries in addition to assisting in other research and service projects as necessary. Hourly range: $21.38-$25.15



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Required: * Knowledge of mathematics, statistics and computation related to biological data analysis;  * Basic computer scripting skills including knowledge of at least one of the following scripting languages: * Perl, R, Unix scripting; Knowledge of basic principles of molecular biology, cell biology, and cancer biology; Ability to create and maintain records accurately, and to annotate executed analysis;  * Ability to communicate effectively to convey computational results; * Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows and students.
