Job Summary

Under supervision incumbent performs tasks in the Coccidioidomycosis Serology Laboratory. Perform a variety of tasks, such as processing and preparing samples for laboratory testing by checking in paper forms and tubes for matching information, using good communication skills to request missing information from clients, participates in basic lab maintenance and organizational tasks under supervision. Participates in assisting to enter information into a software program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic microbiology and biology in a laboratory setting. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to adhere to lab safety safety protocols, deadlines and time-schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A. Degree in the biomedical sciences or biology or related disciplines.

Department Description

The Coccidioidomycosis Serology Laboratory in the UC Davis Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology provides serodiagnostic and consultative services for suspected or established cases of coccidioidomycosis, commonly referred to as Valley Fever or San Joaquin fever.
