 Pay Grade: 32
This position involves cage cleaning and preparation, daily animal care, and facility cleaning and maintenance. The person in this position works closely with the manager, other lab animal technicians, student assistants, faculty, research staff, and veterinarians and their staff.
Responsibilities / Duties:
The candidate will be responsible for preparing dirty caging for washing, preparing clean animal caging for changes, daily animal care, changing of animals, dusting, sweeping, mopping, painting, and other cleaning chores, and other duties as assigned.
Must be able to read instructions, standard procedures, write legibly, and keep records.
This is a career ladder position. The title and pay grade will start at pay grade 32 as a Lab Animal Technician I and may increase based on the selected candidate's education and work experience.


 The qualified candidate will provide proof of high school graduation or GED at a minimum, three job or non-personal references, have a clear background check, must be reliable, must be able to work dependently and also must be able to work as part of a team.

Other Qualifications Include:

-Must be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned (will rotate).
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time on concrete floor, be able to bend, must be able to pick up items above head and below knees.
-Must not be allergic to animals.
-Effective communicator both oral and written.
