Lab Administrator - Kasitsna Bay/Seldovia

As our Kasitsna Bay Lab Administrator, you will perform administrative functions in support of the site manager. We will rely on you to greet and assist visiting students, faculty, researchers and the public in a proactive and professional manner. You will use your verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to assist visitors in-person, by phone and email correspondence. Duties include completing the purchasing and inventory of supplies for the station while adhering to fiscal and purchasing polies, rules and regulations. Additionally, the ideal candidate also has record keeping skills to accurately report visitor use of lab facilities for billing and the willingness to assist with routine facility up-keep and maintenance.

CFOS is one of the most geographically diverse units at UAF. The College is headquartered in Fairbanks with additional locations in Anchorage and our costal facilities include the Seward Marine Center, the NOAA-UAF Kasitsna Bay Laboratory, and the Juneau Lena Point Fisheries Facility. The College has over 150 faculty, researchers and staff based throughout Alaska.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate and two years office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds. A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required. Small boat handling and marine safety skills/experience is a plus (not required).

Position Details:

This position is located at the Kasitsna Bay Laboratory , it is a part-time, 12-month, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 76, based on education and experience.
