KBC Science Lab Technician

This position maintains an efficient and quality teaching lab environment for students and ensures the safety, risk management and security of the labs, equipment and physical, chemical and biological media. Also, provides support to faculty, nursing and health sciences for all of the KBC's Science programs.

To thrive in this position, you must have the ability to set up, maintain and manage a safe chemical lab. Familiarity with proper storage and disposal of chemicals is required. Knowledge of instructional technology and experience interacting with faculty, staff and students with diverse backgrounds and experience levels is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

BA or BS in Chemistry, Biology or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The degree aids in having experience with techniques in using general and specialized lab equipment and instruments, SDS documents, waste management, hazardous chemical management, etc.

Unofficial transcript that demonstrates training in chemistry or biochemistry must be submitted with the application.

Position Details:

This position is located at the KPC Kachemak Bay campus in Homer.  This is a part-time, temporary staff position. New hires will be placed on Temporary Grade 78 starting at $22.36 per hour, based on education and experience.
