Position Summary

Bilingual English-Spanish Community Health Worker to work with outreach and research studies involving the Latino community in the Kansas City Metro Area. Some travel to other areas in Kansas may be required. Must be willing to work some nights and weekends with a flexible schedule. Must have reliable transportation to travel to study and/or program community-based locations.

Required Qualifications

• Experience conducting community health education.
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health management, public administration or biology science field.
• Bilingual, requiring demonstrated competence in written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Basic computer knowledge, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, literature searches, and internet literacy.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Experience and ability to work with medically underserved Latino communities.
• Attention to detail and superior ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a research team
• Some nights and weekends required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training or experience working with youth.
• Prior work experience in implementing community-based, or practice based research including implementing research protocol for administering surveys, communicating and following-up with study participants and data management.
• Knowledge of Protection of Human Subjects and CITI training.
