Collaboration Core has an outstanding opportunity for a Junior Process Engineer. 

The Junior Process Engineer will be responsible for baseline process monitoring, user training and support, tool ownership in collaboration with the equipment engineer(s), and executing contract manufacturing efforts. This position will lead general tool and process performance in a multiuser fabrication facility in addition to new user training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assume primary responsibility, in partnership with management, for monitoring process performance on a specific set of semiconductor processing tools.
• Assume primary responsibility for calibration, and together with the equipment engineer ensure proper maintenance, repair and servicing of complex equipment used in nanofabrication, including but not limited to photolithography, dry etching, thin-film deposition, and inspection and analysis in order to meet uptime metrics and maintain process performance.
• Work with other facility staff and users to identify tool process issues and address those issues in a timely manner with proper troubleshooting and arranging for maintenance and repair.
• Coordinate new tool facilitation and commissioning together with equipment engineer and assist in developing calibration and preventative maintenance schedules for their tools and peripherals.
• Characterize process and calibrate tool performance using OEM Best Known Methods (BKMs) and processes periodically with Statistical Process Controls (SPC).
• Work directly with local researchers, including university staff and students as well as industrial users, to support their instrumentation needs by minimizing downtime and ensuring stable performance.
• Be cross-trained and provide secondary support for other equipment in the cleanroom.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
• At least 2 years working experience with micro and nanofabrication tools or support equipment.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure systems and ability to do basic process troubleshooting and coordinate service and repairs to support their toolset.
• Working knowledge of hazardous materials handling and emergency response procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including project organization and issue tracking.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
• Nanofabrication experience including both process development and equipment maintenance including high vacuum systems.
• Detailed experience with at least 1 nanofabrication process line or infrastructure suite and the equipment necessary to support it, preferably in relation to a multi-user, multi-discipline, research-oriented facility.
• Ability to plan and execute complex projects such as preventative maintenance planning, process development and characterization, or equipment installation.
