Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Job Coach for the Center for Adult Autism Services.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
•Works within the instructional setting under the supervision of a behavior analyst to support the vocational and recreational goals of adults with autism.
•Provides direct care to adults with autism in a variety of settings and contexts (e.g., community, vocational, recreational, center-based, etc.). Implements ABA instructional and behavior reduction programming as is appropriate under the supervision of a BCBA.
•Collects and maintains data to support progress monitoring of skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming.
•Maintains an efficient and organized instructional environment. This may involve the preparation of instructional materials, the creation/maintenance of data storage systems (e.g., binders), and/or physically arranging the instructional space.

Minimum Education and Experience

•High School diploma or equivalent, and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, bookkeeping, library assistant or related experience depending on the duties to be performed.
•An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Certifications/Licenses

•Requires a valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or related field
•Experience working in community-based settings supporting adults with autism
•Experience working in an ABA environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
•The ability to work well with adult with autism that have significant educational, physical, and/or behavioral support needs.
•Competent communication skills.
•Must be able to complete training in crisis management.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

•Support adults with ASD during public transportation
•Must be able to complete training in crisis management
•Operates under the direct supervision of the program coordinator/behavior analyst. •Follows/implements procedures as they are written/explained.
