The Department of Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University solicits applications for up to three J.J. Sylvester Assistant Professorships beginning Fall 2021.

The J.J. Sylvester Assistant Professorship is a three-year position offered to recent PhDs with outstanding research potential. Candidates in all areas of pure mathematics are encouraged to apply. One of the three positions this year carries a preference for candidates working in number theory or representation theory while the area for the other positions are open. The teaching load is three courses per academic year.
