Primary Purpose: Responsible for supporting and implementing IP telephony systems in accordance with departmental standards and procedures. Works with users to define telephony system functionality, call flow, reports, and phone system applications requirements. Documents operational procedures, tests telephony software, perform backups, coordinate software releases and performs other duties associated with telephony hardware

Knowledge and Skills

 

 

Education: H.S. Diploma is required. Associate's degree in Business or Computer Science preferred.

 

 

Years of Experience: One to two years equivalent experience, minimum required. Three to five years equivalent experience, preferred.

 

 

Required Skills and Knowledge: This position requires 2-4 years’ experience in the telephony systems. An Associates degree in Computer Sciences or Business or equivalent education and experience is preferred required. Previous experience in telephony systems is required with experience in Avaya systems preferred. The position must have a working knowledge of legacy phone systems, IP telephony systems, voice recording software, conferencing software, call center design & implementation, troubleshooting techniques, wireless technology. The incumbents in this position must be proficient with PC including knowledge of VOIP, H.323/ SIP and TDM trunking/routing, as well as knowledge of IP addressing/troubleshooting. Proficiency with telephony systems, voice mail, and call accounting is preferred. The employee must have good interpersonal skills, time management skills and communication skills be self-motivated learner and be skilled in project management.
