Position Focus:

The Systems Engineer 3 - Enterprise Storage and Virtualization Platform is responsible for:

Monitoring services for capacity and performance issues. Resolution of those issues, including direct work with vendor support. Support storage and virtualization hardware in design, initial setup, security, configuration, optimizing, and on-going maintenance/upgrades. Knowledge on existing vendor product lines with NetApp, Cisco, McAfee, NetBackup, Komprise, CPM, and VMware. Support storage services within the cloud providers of Wasabi, AWS, and Azure. - Service request processing across all storage and virtualization services. Creation of new shares, application volumes, access requests and implementation of best practices. - Planning/execution of VMware/VCenter upgrades and migrations. - Client and peer team technical liaison to align offered storage services with end-user goals.


Essential Duties

1. Develop or modify moderately complex software programming applications from specifications.2. Monitor, support, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, ensuring adherence to standards and service level objectives.3. Analyze and prepare reports on performance metrics.4. Implement and support robust and secure IT solution.5. Draw on relationship and technical skills to act as technical liaison to internal and external stakeholders.6. Serve as a technical liaison; support & collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.7. Contribute to development & implementation of best practices.


Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree and four years of experience or equivalent education and experience.

Developed understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and data structures.

Developed understanding of software engineering best practices.


Required Skill/Ability 3:

Developed analytical, critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to write precise, detailed technical specs and documentation.
