The Data Architect plays a key role in accelerating the campus data maturity by providing recommendations that foster data-driven decision-making and empowering team members through the availability of data.  The Data Architect will have three major responsibilities.

First, they will help establish a campus wide data architecture roadmap.  Execution of this roadmap will not be a direct responsibility of the Data Architect, but they will play a key role in its execution.  Second, they will partner with University business units to drive the campus data strategy forward.  Third, they will be the lead the development efforts for the University data warehouse, establishing a best practice for Creighton, designing and implementing new data models and ensuring the University data warehouse has a high level of end-user adoption.  This will include the development and documentation of a deep understanding of vast data sources of the University and know how, when, and which data to use to solve particular problems

Progress toward and completion of these three responsibilities should enable data to be pervasive and intuitive to use University-wide.

Although this is an individual contributor role, this is a highly collaborative Agile team environment requiring personal flexibility in performing a variety of roles such as analyst, designer, developer, tester, and mentor when needed; all to take the necessary steps to ensure our customers' needs are met to the maximum extent possible in an accurate and timely manner.
