  • Academic Technology: Our team is dedicated to supporting faculty in integrating technology into their teaching practices to enhance student engagement, collaboration, and learning outcomes. From learning management systems and multimedia tools to virtual classrooms and online assessments, we provide faculty with the training and resources they need to leverage technology effectively in their courses.
  • Information Technology: We manage and maintain the IT infrastructure and systems that support teaching, learning, and research at Rutgers University – Newark. From network infrastructure and cybersecurity to software applications and cloud services, we ensure that faculty, staff, and students have access to reliable and secure IT resources that enable them to achieve their academic and professional goals.
  • Academic Scheduling: Our team oversees the scheduling of academic courses and classrooms to optimize the use of university resources and support student success. We work closely with academic departments to develop class schedules that meet the needs of students and faculty while maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of classroom utilization.
  • Classroom Management: We manage and maintain the university’s classrooms and learning spaces to create environments that support active learning, collaboration, and innovation.     Posting Summary
    Rutgers University – Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking an IT Project Manager. Reporting to the Associate Director of Innovation & Technology, the primary role of the ITPM is to plan, coordinate and track Information Technology project initiatives and to lead technical solution implementations.
    The position responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
    • Ensures cohesiveness between Rutgers-Newark Technology and Learning Spaces (TLS, Rutgers-Newark IT (RUN-IT), and other Rutgers-Newark campus stakeholders in technical solution design, technical implementation, and overall project delivery for infrastructure, system, and application initiatives across the campus
    • Serves as primary client liaison and provides the “bridge” between client needs and technical solutions that support those needs
    • Responsible for financial/budget management of some projects
    • Applies best practices in project management and technical implementation in order to deliver value-added solutions in a cost-effective manner

    Work Arrangement
    Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.     Qualifications


    Minimum Education and Experience
    • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent experience) in information technology, technical project management, or a related field of study;
    • Minimum of 5 years IT project management and IT solution implementation;

    Certifications/Licenses
    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Experiential knowledge and achievement in IT project management methods and procedures;
    • Experiential knowledge and achievement in information technologies, infrastructures, systems, and applications.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification; Lean six sigma training or certifications; Experience working in higher education environment.

    Immunization Requirements
