Position Summary
The IT Project Manager/Business Analyst is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional and technical teams across domestic and international UIW sites to facilitate business analysis and management of project activities. Key responsibilities include managing project operations to support the successful implementation of technological processes and/or system improvements. The IT Project Manager/Business Analyst reports to the Assistant Director of Global Technology Operations and Project Management.

Description of Job Duties
  • Documents business requirements and translates needs into functional and technical specifications as part of project planning.
  • Plans and assists with oversight of testing processes, defect identification, and problem resolution.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with campus partners and subject matter experts.
  • Facilitates cross-functional meetings, records meeting minutes, and maintains document repository.
  • Communicates regularly with project stakeholders and IT leadership regarding project status, risks, and issues.
  • Prepares and maintains a repository of routine project status reports, user guides, training documents, and other project artifacts for stakeholders.
  • Serves as project liaison to navigate technical challenges with project stakeholders to identify viable resolutions.
  • Safeguards integrity of project artifacts and departmental document repository.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Duty Name Business Analysis
Description of Job Duties
  • Works with functional and technical teams to document current state, gaps, and future state to optimize process efficiency.
  • Evaluates effect of process changes on business, systems, and integrated processes.
  • Accesses vendor support sites to investigate and resolve support issues for business stakeholders.
  • Writes and modifies reports utilizing reporting tools.
  • Prepares and delivers business process models for technological solutions to document process roles, responsibilities, and process activities. Writes SQL queries to analyze and create end-user reports.
  • Serves as subject matter expert in the continuous improvement of the business analysis methodology and application of business analysis tools.
  • Processes and conducts system analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Experience of knowledge in Microsoft productivity tools.
  • Strong skills in writing SQL queries to analyze and create end-user reports.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or relevant degree.
Required Work Experience
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in the field of business analysis. Note that complex internships will be considered.
  • Two (2) years of professional complex project management experience facilitating business process reviews and documenting current processes, gaps, and desired future states. Note that complex internships will be considered.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and executing presentations for audiences with various technical levels within an organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in the field of business analysis.
  • Three (3) years experience facilitating business process reviews, documenting current processes, gaps, and desired future state.
  • Three (3) years experience working in an educational/university environment.
  • Three (3) experience working with Ellucian Banner Applications.
  • Three (3) years of experience facilitating business process reviews and documenting outcomes.
  • Three (3) years of experience using reporting tools such as Argos and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of higher education administrative areas and their function, such as the roles within the recruitment, admissions, registration, billing, and business/finance departments.
  • Familiarity with higher education organizational structure, policies, and procedures.
  • Business Analysis or Project Management certification.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Work Hours
Mon through Fri 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to regularly move about main campus and local satellite campuses to provide customer services as needed throughout the day.
  • Ability to regularly move about campus to actively engage faculty, staff, and potential/current students, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
